Short-term Counseling
Short-term counseling is focused on a specific problem or concern. It can take from 1 to 10 sessions depending on the goal and mutual agreement.
After one hour of counseling, you can gain a new perspective on your problem or find out what steps you could take to solve the problem. In some cases, the problem gets solved altogether.
During 3 to 10 sessions of counseling, we will first identify the problem and then define a specific goal to focus on during this limited number of sessions. During our meetings we may actually find a deeper problem whose solution may require longer-term psychotherapy. In the short-term counseling we will only solve the acute part of the deeper problem. Later, it will be up to you to decide whether and when you will deal with the underlying issue.
A single session of short-term counseling lasts 50 minutes. The session frequency depends on the type of the problem and our mutual agreement and varies from 1 to 4 times a month.
